Established in Germany in 1883 and now a global player, Vorwerk is a family-owned business. The group has its headquarters in Wuppertal (Germany) and subsidiaries in 11 European Union Member States (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain). The companies belonging to the Vorwerk group generate an annual business volume totalling 2.4 billion euros.
Highly innovative and firmly established in the superior quality segment, all Vorwerk products are developed and produced within the group. The core of Vorwerk’s production lies in the European Union: specifically, in Wuppertal and Hameln (Germany), Cloyes-sur-le-Loir (France) and Arcore (Italy).
Vorwerk’s core business is direct sales (also called “sales outside business premises”). Vorwerk’s household appliances and cosmetics are sold at personal demonstrations in the customer’s home by independent sales advisers.
In Europe, the Vorwerk group employs approximately 16,000 people in its production and administration units as well as in the services segment. The products are sold on the occasion of personal demonstrations in the customer’s home by some 28,000 independent sales advisers in Europe (mainly for household appliances).
In the sector of sales away from business premises, Vorwerk is the largest company headquartered in the EU.
